The practical sequence
Mark the proposed work
Identify the opening size, purpose, desired location and project constraints.
Investigate the area
Use the appropriate investigation method to collect information about embedded conditions.
Coordinate the penetration
Use project requirements, scan findings and professional judgment to select the final approach.
Perform the work
Proceed using the provider's selected method, controls and project plan.
Important limitations
GPR is an interpretation tool, not an automatic object-labeling system. Material properties, depth, congestion, access and operator experience can affect the quality and meaning of the information collected. Project teams should use qualified providers and combine scanning with drawings, site knowledge and other information when available.
